As current parents in the prep school system, over 7 years’ experience, we have faced the instability of school longevity post covid resulting in 2 schools closing and multiple changes for our children. This kind of disruption can be harmful to a child’s wellbeing. We want to mitigate these risks for others’ and that’s why we created PrepUp.
Leveraging our insights into central London prep schools, PrepUp aims to guide parents through school selection. Our expertise lies in London, providing a thorough analysis of schools, including academic performance, pastoral care, and financial governance.
Additionally, as active members of the London prep school community, we offer a unique viewpoint and access to a broad network of parents. We facilitate one-on-one meetings with them for firsthand, current insights into potential schools, an invaluable resource in this rapidly evolving sector.

Our parent-driven advisory service is supported by strong ties with headteachers and an advisory board comprising London headteachers and others from beyond the city.

Benjamin Kelly
Founding PrepUp is one of the most rewarding episodes of my career to date, drawing upon two areas of interest: human decision-making and social impact.
I have spent over 17 years in financial markets as an investor: firstly, in investments yielding positive social outcomes and secondly, implementing my PhD research in behavioural economics; working with investors to enhance their decision-making under uncertainty, removing emotions and noise from the investment process.
With two children in London prep schools and having been through this system now as both child and parent, I understand the emotions and uncertainties associated with school selection. I’m, therefore, thrilled at the opportunity to help families discover the “right school” for their children.
I also have a background in teaching: I currently lecture postgraduate students at the University of St Andrews and Imperial College on behavioural finance and impact investing, respectively. In my spare time, I am an avid golfer and an aspiring artist, mainly in urban sketching.
Stefan Svanberg
Moving from Stockholm to London in 2019 with my family, I first-hand faced the challenge of finding the right school for our children. As a parent of two children, I know it can be very difficult to know your way around the British school system.
What brought me to London was working with Hydroscand, a Swedish hydraulics solutions specialist company. I was responsible for their new customers’ growth in Europe.
Prior to that, I ran my own company selling electric motors and worked in various sales roles across Europe and Asia. Currently, I’m involved with two golf-related start-ups, sitting on their advisory boards.
With a background in mechanical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, I’ve always enjoyed solving problems and interacting with people. That’s why I’m thrilled about Prep Up, where we help families find the perfect school.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf, racket sports, running, and occasionally impressing my kids with my cooking skills.
